Races

The peoples of Krynn a new character can be born as.

Krynn is populated by a large variety of cultures and creatures. Many of the intelligent humanoid races have built vast empires of their own, from shoreline to shoreline and beyond. It is said in legend that the first races on Krynn were the Ogres, the Humans and the Elves. Many tales describe the creation of the other races, most of them including, in some shape or form, an artifact known as the Greystone of Gargath.

Though they are stocky, their movements are quick and their hands are deft and nimble. The Gnomes of Krynn are strange creatures indeed. Constantly tinkering in machinery of various uses, they have become to be quite intelligent, although rather lacking in common sense, as their inventions often end up far larger than necessary, and even more often producing an affect other than the original indented one.

Goblin

Goblins are a small race of savage and barbaric creatures. They stand around four feet tall on average and rarely weigh over 120 pounds. Their skin is most often shades of grey or green and is mottled with disgusting scars and sores. Beady yellow eyes sit above a pig like nose and a mouth filled with sharp, carnivorous teeth; two of which are large protruding, tusk-like teeth used for ripping apart meat. Their culture is a savage one with very little art and a great deal of fighting. They are constantly at war, if not with another race, then with another goblin clan, and if all else fails within their own clan. For all their savagery and battlelust, goblins are actually rather craven as a race, and will virtually always flee if the odds turn against them.

Goblins have natural infravision, get a dodge bonus to armor class and get a bonus to combat initiative, making it more likely they will go sooner than others each combat round.

Half-Elf

Also: Half Elf

This race is created by the union of an elf and a human. This race has characteristics of both races, possessing the pointy ears of elves, and the build and facial hair of a human. They are generally more stocky than most elves, and lack the grace of their elven heritage. Often these are out casts, as the humans can only see the elf in the person, and the elves only seeing the human half. In effect, many half-elves become suspicious and reclusive in personality, regardless of their alignment.

Half elves have natural infravision, and they get all skills and spells for their class one level earlier than other races. Note that in the case of spells, this will not allow them to cast higher level spell circles than they could normally.
